The answer is probably glued to NBC.
I admit it, I'm a total sucker for the Olympics. You'd have to be pretty hard hearted not to be, and on top of that I'm a sports fan to begin with. Medal ceremonies make me cry. I love rooting for the random athlete from the middle of nowhere who had to fight so hard to make it to the Olympics. I want to watch Michael Phelps set new records. Yao Ming is my favorite NBA player, and I don't even like pro basketball that much, but man, seeing him walk into the opening ceremony with that tiny (was he tiny? no, he was next to Yao Ming) little boy who survived the earthquake and saved his friends, god, waterworks. I want it all: the heartbreak, the stories, the underdogs, the near-misses and near-wins.
So I'll probably be a little absent the next two weeks. Hey, it only happens once every four years *not including the Winter Olympics. Vancouver 2010!!!
And hey, a thousand congratulations to the Oregon ladies who took medals in the Women's Sabre today! And a thousand best wishes to the Indiana girls going for gold in Gymnastics!
Oh, hell, good luck to all of you.

I think it's funny about many book bloggers are all, "Um, no book posts today; glued to the Olympics!" I think that says something about *how* we get all that reading done... we aren't usually watching sports!
Ha! I hadn't seen any, but then there's been a lot of tv on here today. Oops, gotta run, swimming back on :)
Love the olympics! ALL of it (especially the fluff pieces--gaah, bring the cheese!). Did you catch the men's 4x100 relay last night!?!??!!?! *explodes* Amazing.
*killer* 400! Yeah, picking up pieces of my head from that for a long time. What an amazing race!
I find that I either watch none of it, or have to watch all of it. This time around it's all, all, all and I almost woke my kids screaming after that 4x100 relay.
You know, I actually was gasping with nerves as the guys were doing some high bar stuff last night. I don't think I've ever been this into it.
Okay Kate, pull it together. I know the Olympics is great, so blog about that if you have to. Or get a guest blogger. Don't leave one of my bookmarks completely devoid for two whole weeks. I'm begging you.
Oh, ask and ye shall receive, Heloise...:) It's nice to feel wanted.
